As tears fall
I count them
Each one is a disappointment
A frustration
A regret
A wish that never came true
A promise broken to me or you
A dream I lost
A desire I tossed
Into the wastebasket
As I focused on the task at hand
I regret not being a better everything
Dwelling on my broken wings
And taking too much time with grief
When I cry, it must stay brief!
As I think of all the wasted years
I realize that you stole my tears
Thoughts of you are time I've wasted
I realize with a sigh
Your fruit wasn't the best I've tasted
And I have no more tears to cry

I sit crying because of something lost

Looking at man’s tears of today
In such sorrow of himself.
Feeling the shame
Brought on by others.
