For many people, getting in shape is a big dream, and an even bigger nightmare. Many believe that getting a good figure requires hours of back-breaking effort in the gym, but it’s actually much simpler than that. To get in shape, crunches and push-ups, running, and some weight lifting will suffice. The hardest part of getting fit is being consistent.

Crunches

Crunches are a great way to lose tummy fat and achieve a flat stomach. If you would like to get a six pack, then crunches will be a big help. Below are three of many different crunches you can do to get a flat stomach.

Regular crunches – these are normal crunches that are really simple but works great when done every day. Lay on the floor with knees bent and arms crossed over your chest. Lift yourself until your arms touch your thighs and then slowly lower back down. This whole exercise must be done without lifting your feet off the floor.

Bicycle crunches – lay on the floor with your hands locked behind your head with your legs lifted. Your thighs should be perpendicular to the floor with your knees bent at a 90 degree angle. Bring your left leg toward your chest while bringing your right elbow toward your knee. Once they touch, alternate your knees and elbows keeping at a steady pace.

Long arm crunch – The long arm crunch is very similar to the regular crunch but is much more effective. In the long arm crunch you start off lying on the floor with knees bent and arms stretched out above your head in a straight line with your back. Simply raise yourself and bring your arms out in front of you and reach forward as far as you can. Then as you lower back to the floor, put your arms back to the starting position and repeat.

Running is a great workout that strengthens the whole core of your body and helps you get in shape. Every single factor while running contributes to the workout. If you’re breathing and your foot placement is not done correctly, then you can hurt yourself, and not get the full benefit of the exercise.

Breathing – proper breathing allows you to get the proper amount of oxygen into your body. If not breathing properly, then you may get pains in your sides. To breathe properly, inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. It may seem difficult at first, but through practice, you may finally perfect a steady rhythm just right for you.

Foot placement – How you run is the most important thing to know. Many people, when they
