Poem: Rape
Rape is not a game
It takes control of self esteem
Uproots the innocence bloom
Rape kills laughter heard
It takes the love of precious girls
Takes sunshine from the smile
Rape a four letter word
That devastates the lives of children
No knowing the right from the wrong
A secret deep inside that tiny body
A weight too heavy to carry alone
Must be told to lighten the load
Just acknowledge apologies
Can make the difference
In a world that lingers hard
May never make better
May never understand
A day in a life that will always
Exist
