Humans will never unconditionally and as a whole be ready for a major worldwide contact with UFO's. This is because there are varying human capacities for dealing with such a profound change in the reality of our existence. Humans are used to being alone in the universe and, while many have made healthy adjustments to the idea that we are not alone, even those emotionally prepared individuals may behave and react quite differently than they planned to if the real thing ever occurred.

Another area of conditionality involves the type of contact with UFO's. If they arrive and just sit there for years, sending and receiving no communications that we can understand, that would create one set of reactions that could vary from military aggression to religious and psychological turmoil, to general acceptance. If they are hostile, then chaos would erupt at the first sign of hostility. If they are friendly, go back to the set of reactions that range from military aggression to religious and psychological turmoil.

Human behavior is complex, and group behavior can change at the drop of a hat. There could be every type of campaign from religious, to political to social to interpersonal that would result in enormous disruptions, most of which would be fueled by opportunists from all levels of society, from the most powerful of corporate, political and military leaderships to the religious leaders of a thousand of the existing religions and probably even thousands more of new religions. There are very few households where the members would all agree on the proper response.

Religions, governments, the media and societies would be the first to be called upon to react and to provide leadership and structure during a crisis that would definitelly challenge all that humanity believes, has to offer, has to defend or must comprehend.

If the leadership of these social entities becomes psychologically, ethically or morally deficient or abrogates their duties and responsibilities, then the mass of humanity is left with no structure or guidance. There will be more than enough people who will take this opportunity to gain power and control for themselves, creating localized pockets of chaos, where those who have the weapons and the ability to convince others will be those who call the shots.

There will be no military, governmental or social force that can control and stabilize every place on Earth under such conditions. As a result, there is only one condition where we will ever be ready for contact with an alien civilization or species that has the technology to confound our understandings and means of defense.

That condition requires that the alien species and civilization be already here, and that they have been here for a long time. In other words, we would do much better if we are either related to them or we have known them for a very long time. Otherwise, 6.7 independent and individual courses of action will likely occur.
