Here are some of the local organizations that look for volunteers to help them meet the needs of the community.

Father Bill's Place - Father Bill's is a homeless shelter that provides interim services to men and women to help them transition from homelessness to having their own home.  Not only do they help by providing basic services, but they also help in providing services that help those who are homeless re-establish themselves in the work place.  They also help with preventing homelessness programs.

Homes for our Troops - All too often our veterans return from service to our country only to find their homes are not suitable for new physical demands such as ramps and other structures that can help those who were injured cope from day to day. Home for our Troops is a non profit organization that ensures that veterans can stay in their homes or when needed help provide new homes that are specially adapted to the veterans needs.

Quincy Lions Club - The Quincy Lions Club is part of a larger network of the Lions Clubs of Massachusetts.  Lions Clubs provide leadership opportunities, socializing and allow you to get involved in giving back to the community.  The Quincy Lions Club holds several fundraisers annually. Lions Club members are local business leaders who believe that in order to make a difference you must start in your own community.

Quincy Animal Shelter - The Quincy Animal Shelter is committed to placing dogs and cats in safe homes and ensuring that they are properly cared for.  They offer orientation sessions for those who are interested in helping them protect the animals that are sent to the shelter regularly.  They are constantly seeking volunteers who can help walk dogs, play with cats and even do laundry.  They always have a need for "foster parenting" as well.
