Poetry: Burning daylight

by Dominic D.

Created on: July 19, 2010

I hate the

sun

these early Sunday

mornings when it peers

through the barrier of my

curtains

that try to protect

me from the party

the night before

I know I'm trapped

inside for my own

protection from the

daylight that burns my

soul, still afraid to lose

the innocence of youth,

anfd forge the path to

being an adult.
