How video games affect our lives

                Video games affect the lives of the gamers in nearly every single way. Some may claim that their lives haven’t been affected, but if you live with a gamer, you know they spend most of the time looking at the television or the controllers used to play the game they favor, and those who create these games make millions of dollars off of their creations, and many don’t care about how their creation will corrupt the life of gamers.

The worst thing about gaming is that it is extremely difficult to quit. Once you’ve started playing video games, more often than not, you’re hooked. Billions of dollars are wasted on video games every year1, and can lead to poverty.

                Additionally, 45.9% of the gamers will simply miss a meal when a game is perfect through their eyes, slowing down their metabolism drastically, leading to an increase in weight.3 Obesity usually starts from age 6 to age 14 and each hour spent on watching TV or playing video games doubled the likelihood that the child was obese2.  If you take a look at gamers everywhere, you will notice that most are either overweight or emaciated from too many energy drinks and too few meals. Most of the time, you will see bags around the gamers eyes from staying up for very long periods of time, changing their sleeping patterns. By spending less time in the outside world, actual communication skills and social interaction suffers.

                Not only does obesity affect the lives of the adults and children, so does the violence in them.

Most of the violence is attained from violent video games, such as, “Grand Theft Auto”. Even though the game is intended for ages 18 and up, the average teen male will find ways on how to obtain this sort of game. Crimes happened in the US, sometimes happens due to violent video games. Not only does killing others happen due to video games, but suicides as well. One suicide came from playing the most popular game, “World of Warcraft”. Even though it isn’t exactly their fault for making the game and providing entertainment around the world, parents of a 13 year old child that committed suicide from a 24 story building, filed a suit against the company.4 After the company has
