I love Cadbury's Chocolate Eclairs but for some reason it's one of those things I rarely eat, probably because they come in such large bags and I love them too much to be able to stop at one or two!
The individually wrapped sweets are delicious and so sweet that they can sometimes make your teeth ache with all the sugar.
The Eclairs are the size of a standard boiled sweet only they are caramel with a milk chocolate centre, the caramel takes some chewing before you get to the middle though and you will have to suck them for a while before you can really bite through them. It's a delicious caramel though, the flavour puts me in mind of the chewy Werthers toffees only these are even sweeter and tastier. The chewiness of the caramel is delicious; it has a wonderful toffee/caramel/butterscotch flavour which is not only terribly sweet but an absolute delight to eat.
Once you've chewed the caramel for a while the chocolate centre will suddenly be revealed, usually you'll begin to notice it as a coldness next to the warm toffee but then you'll taste the delicious sweet chocolate that Cadbury's is so well known for. There's not enough chocolate involved to say if it's particularly rich or creamy but it certainly complements the toffee perfectly! After you have eaten a few of these Eclairs (or 'Chocolairs' as Cadbury's refer to them on the packet) you will definitely taste the fact that they are made of Cadbury's chocolate, it has an unmistakable Dairy Milk flavour but at the same time isn't exactly Dairy Milk.
These are extremely moreish sweets, I've just eaten one and now am sitting with a pile of four next to me which are clamouring to be unwrapped and jump into my mouth! Despite the sweetness they don't make me feel sick in the slightest, although my sensitive teeth tend to tell me when I've had enough rather than my belly!
Each chocolate Eclair contains 35 calories and 1.4g of fat which isn't too bad if you can eat them in moderation, however a bag contains around 20 sweets so beware if you're like me and just don't know when to stop! The 165g bag is currently flash priced at 99p which is rather inexpensive for such a delicious treat, but I suspect the usual price is around the £1.49 mark.

Chocolate clairs (yes it's right, despite for some reason looking wrong) used to be a treat my mother would buy on a Friday
