Some of the most wonderful experiences of my life were from learning from people who earn their income right from the comfort of their very own homes. From image consultants, mortgage brokers, piano teachers, graphic designers and home-based party consultants, the list goes on of people I know who have complete control over their careers. Everyone I know who has their own business and works from home is completely contented with their employment arrangement and would never dream of going back to the 9 to 5 daily work and commute, including myself. Your work is important for your financial survival. Like it or not, we need money to make it in this world and that is never going to change. If you are not self-employed and are unhappy working for your current employer, you are not alone. With the price of gasoline on the rise and the enormous opportunities that have opened up because of internet technology, there are many choices for people who want leave the car parked in the driveway, quit their jobs and work from home. Before you quit, there are a few things that you need to do to prepare.
You need to figure out an action plan as to what kind of work you want to do and can realistically do from home. Some home based businesses occasionally require you to travel to meet with clients and other home based businesses don’t require that at all. If you have an extroverted personality and enjoy interacting with people, choose a home based business that forces you to go out and network with others in order to build your business. If you are introverted and don’t want any contact with other human beings during your working hours, choose a home based business where you can stay “behind the scenes.” Internet jobs like running dating websites or product review sites are good jobs for introverted individuals because they are sales based but they don’t require much interaction with others.
Having great organizational skills is a must if you are going build your home based business. The first thing you need to do once you figure out what kind of home based business you want to start and legally registered your business name is create an office space. Every business requires some paper work to be done, whether you meet with clients or not. Your office space area should be tidy and inviting, both for you and any clients or customers you would be meeting
