Can we take a step backwards in the past? Can we do without the modern inventions now? Can we imagine a life without the internet? The answer to all of the above is a big NO.

How can we than think of a future without software engineers? without even realizing, we need them for every small step that we take. No doubt, the quality of them has to be better and software programming has to be taken up as a profession by people who are genuinely interested in studying and developing software and not just those joining the bandwagon.

The reason why this question about software programmers being jobless in future came up probably because everybody seems to want to become one. Maybe it is the high pay, maybe it is the flexible working hours or maybe it is because it is the trend to become one, for whatever reason, everybody wants to be a software programmer, aptitude and capability not withstanding. Of course everybody is good at something, what I am trying to say is even a brilliant person can be a bad software programmer. Thanks to this craze for Information Technology Industry, we now have programmers who can't write a program, no kidding!

Software has penetrated every nook and corner of the modern day living and most of it has made life advanced and easier. From banking, to business transactions, to paying taxes online, to security programs, things have been simplified to a great extent, thanks to the software programs and their programmers. A lot of work has now been rendered virtually paperless and a lot of time is saved because of the software programs which take care of most things.

So yes, let's face it, computers are here to stay and so are the software programmers. I don't see a future without software programmers; in fact I see a bright future FOR software programmers. However, as time passes quality will reign over quantity which is still not the case in the software industry. Programmers who can not offer quality solutions will be out of business for sure. Software programmers, the good ones are definitely not going jobless in the future, they are the future and so they better be good.
