The city of Daegu is just one of the major tourist destinations in South Korea. Because of goods sold in Daegu, like large and oddly shaped roots, strange concoctions of different colours, and herbs claimed to possess medicinal properties, Daegu has earned the reputation for traditional medicine. The oriental aroma emanating from these envelops the area even when the rain is pouring.

With its two-line subway system, it is very convenient to travel around the city. Lovely locations to visit are near the subway stations making it a lot easier to travel around. Some of the places are even just a walking distance from the station. The subway station is just about 30-minute drive from the airport.

If you want some cultural and historical displays, take time to visit the Daegu National Museum. Under its care are amazing collections of pottery, Buddhist iconography and various artefacts that mirrors the wonderful history of Daegu.

The Woobang Tower Land is perfect destination if you have children with you. They will surely enjoy the place. It is a fun-filled amusement park located in Duryu Park.

If you are crazy about shopping Daegu is the place to be. From designer clothes, bags and accessories, you can find them not only in department stores but also along the streets. It is best to start from the Seomun Market and shop your way down. Seomun Market is one of the three biggest markets in South Korea since 1669. Let the 4,000 shops in six sections explain this reputation to you. One thing about Seomun market is that it is closed on the second and fourth Sunday of each month. Yasigolmok is located at the centre of the shopping district and is open day and night.

Another fantastic park is the Bullo-Dong Tumuli Park, just north of town, and the area is about 330,000 square meters. These grassy hills are tumuli (meaning, burial mounds), dated from the second to sixth centuries CE. The location of a tomb signifies a social bracket – the higher the tomb, the higher its position in the social hierarchy.

The city of Daegu is South Korea’s third largest city (It is bigger than Seoul). It has hotels and inns that suit all budget ranges. The airport is just a 30-minute drive away from the city. The city is accessible and has amenities that serve all your needs whilst giving you memories to last a lifetime.
