Poetry: Without love

The Magic Question

I once asked you questions
I never want answered
Heard a dark rumor
I hoped wasn't true
I swallowed up half lies
Mixed in with passion
To brew up the spells
I thought cast by you
I listened to voices
Whisper at nightfall
Thinking my thoughts
My heart they could see
I blew on the dice,
Crossed fingers, kissed crosses
All for desire
That burned only me
I'd rather left softly
Saving sweet memories
Tucked deep inside
Meant solely for you
Moon-time grey magical
Trips into fancy
Holding on to the question
Who's answer I knew.
