Reformatting a computer is necessary evil. It is because of problem solving nature of the formatting.I said it a necessary evil because if you do not do it properly without backup data, It is likely that you will loose it all.
Here I am going to write about formatting of computer with Windows XP .
here are the thing needed
1: XP CD
2: drivers CD of motherboard
First of all I would recommend to back up data if it is important.
Now to format a computer first you must configure your computer to boot from CD.Then put the CD in the CD-ROM then restart the computer. When the message to "press any key to boot from CD..." is displayed, quickly press any key from keyboard.Setup begins.you must pay close attention here , because it's very easy to miss this message. If your current operating system starts, you'll know that you missed the opportunity to boot from CD. Restart your computer and try again.
After setup starts , several message will flash across the bottom of the screen. These messages are only important under special circumstances, such as installing a particular hardware access layer , or loading a small computer system interface (SCSI) driver. Then windows will inspect your hardware. Then a screen is shown with messages "Press Enter to install.....". IF you press F3 the installation will quit , so press enter. Then license agreement is shown press F8 to continue. Then partition section is shown where to totally format the computer we must delete the partition and create as desired . Then select the partition drive and press Enter to setup windows operating file. Then Drive will be formatted using the specific File system. Then the files will be copied to Hard disk. The system restarts after coping files. Windows welcome screen will appear. Installing of windows starts. You'll get different notes at right hand side.
Then a Dialog box will appear the middle of installation. Choose Customize if you want otherwise choose Next.Regional and language options will appear. Fill the options. Type your Name and Organization Name. Type Product key included in your CD. Type computer Name and Administrator Password. Date and time setting dialog box will appear. Set proper Date and time. Then wait until installation process guides you to another step. Chose typical setting and press Next. If you'll press custom setting you've to install network manually. Then choose Network Components and click install. After that another screen appears choose there Workgroup or computer Domain and click next. Then coping of files takes place. After that finalization of installation takes place.
Then the computer starts there may ask to fill user name , internet and which you can skip and do it after wards and now in your computer system partition is only format so you have to format other partitions manually. by right clicking the partition and select format it.
And hence your computer is re-formatted or we can say formatted by Windows XP.
