How is racial pride harmful to society? Racial pride is one person or groups of individuals of one race thinking that his, her, or their race is better than others are. This is not true; the United States of America is a melting pot of different cultures, race, and individuals. The beliefs, values, and traditions for each race are different, unique, and special in their own way.
When people start segregating people by race or culture; that is when the problems begin. We are all the same and created from the primordial mix of life. The point is when is enough, enough?
One way racial pride can be harmful to society is removing yourself from a function because a certain individual from a different race you do not approve of per se is there at the function. The person may be offended or may be oblivious to your efforts of avoidance. Nevertheless, to think you will leave an event or function because of another person is absurd. Just because they have different colored skin or look different does not make you better or them, the point is acceptance that we are all here trying to survive on a daily basis. Avoidance and removal is another aspect of racial pride being harmful.
Another way racial pride can be harmful is racial slurs. Racial slurs or slang is degrading and disrespectful. For someone to say racial slurs to another individual is uncalled for and can cause another problem, fighting. Racial slurs are commonly told to others of a different race because of the person’s racial pride. Stop the hate, do not be a hater, you have a choice to stop the rage.
Body language is another form of communication, which shows how a person is reacting or feeling at that point in time. The body language can be aggressive or defensive to another because of the difference in race. This sort of racial pride is considered to be visual and still possess the same harmful affects.
We are all human and we all live on this planet daily. We all strive for better futures. We all want more out of life. We all want what is best for our families and us. That is why “We the People” should stick together and work together instead of hating and fighting. We should not fight on our own soil, when there is so much fighting everywhere else.
