It's almost as if every time I boot up my computer to do something important on the internet, I end up on Facebook chatting with someone, or taking care of my farm on Farmville. It's almost as if I don't get online to look up stuff, in fact, it's almost as if the term information super-highway is obselete. No one gets online to look up information as much anymore! Now, it's all about interacting with the internet itself, and interacting with friends online. In other words, the internet is becoming more about the social experience of the user.
It's not a bad thing that the internet is becoming more of a social experience. In fact it's probably the best thing that has ever happened to the internet. Compared to the beginnings of the internet where you could only read text off of a white screen, the internet has made huge steps from it's boring past. Now instead of reading and watching, you can interact with a web page, or even your friends. It's a much easier way to get the information you need, and keep up with your friends.
However, many browsers aren't ready to handle all of this innovation. Though many people have ultra-fast dial up or DSL, many people use old computers and old browsers, which can cause them to slow down and crash. But that's not much of a problem, as people replace old computers for new ones, and upgrade browsers from slow ones to ones that take up a lot less memory and space, and operate smoothly. With the internet constantly coming toward uniformity, the social experience will become the only experience.
And with the creativity of web developers, there will always be some new way to interact with the internet. Everything will be fresh, and content won't be boring like it is today. Online content won't be boring, and you won't need to do too much work to get something done. Websites that are user-oriented will be successful, and websites based only on boring articles and content will have to change to keep their traffic users. Search engines will follow in the direction of the rest of the internet, and eventually, the internet will take on such a user friendly interface, that the internet of today won't be recognized.
Why? Because everyone wants everything to be streamlined, and easy. Because of this demand, every website owner will want to make their website socially friendly, and as a result, the entire internet will become user friendly, and offer a good social experience.
