It seems in this day and age that people are too focused on their destination to enjoy the trip. Sure it might be convenient to take a flight or a train to where you are going but growing up, my family and I never flew or took a train to any destination on our family vacations. We drove where ever we went and if we couldn't drive there we
didn't go there. Where i am from we have some of the most beautiful and exciting roadways in the nation. To name just a couple of them, the old Route 66 and The Great River Road. Who would want to miss such exciting times? Road trips can bring families together and there is so much history and natural beauty to take in. I wouldn't trade any of my experiences on the road for anything. So next time you are going on a vacation orother leisurely trip, forget the plane tickets and gas up the car. Can you appreciate such wonders as the Grand Canyon or Niagara falls by airplane? Can you really spend quality time with your friends and family cooped up in a train? There's a whole world out there just waiting for you to discover it with the people you care about.
