Hotel horror stories

This is a hotel horror story for those are perhaps easily shaking by the slightest turn of events.
I decided Long ago (Long before the present immigration concerns) to take my winter vacation in the sun during the off season mid summer. My destination Cancun Mexico. The flight from Montreal would be as any budget traveler or for that matter any traveler would hope for uneventful.
A relic of Mexican antiquity would transport us budget travelers from the airport to the hotels with only Atlantic Summer breeze to cool us weary budget travelers. The relic of Mexican public transportation t boulevard drove through what some have refer to as the hotel zone turning off onto a the dimly lite side street and stopping in front of my hotel.
My first impression when i looked out the window of our bus was O my God!Could this really be the hotel i would spend my first winter vacation in the sun?
The front desk clerk who i assumed was Mexican for no other reason than i was in Mexico was a somewhat large friendly person who seemed to have an Strong ambition to go to the U.S. another one of my conclusions based on nothing more than the belief that everyone here wanted to go to the U.S.
After ranting and ranging about the hotel accommodations and being told that if i wished i could change hotels without refund i picked up my bags and walked towards my room. I am not sure how most people feel about staying at a hotel whose guests list seems to include the indigenous wild life of their country but i was not overly happy to see large Mexicans insects( i am sure you know what they where but i would rather not say the word out loud) walking in a somewhat leisurely fashion along the walls of the hall that lead to my room.
The second day of my vacation i spent walking along the beach. Returning to my hotel but only after a good sun burn i noticed the absence of those Mexican critters who were not just the day before casually strolling in the hallways . They where no where in sight ,Thank you know who!
I am not sure if the front desk clerk ever made it to the U.S.(legally) or if the hotel survived hurricanes or the Mexicans critters are still enjoying the hallways of this hotel but my hotel hooror story ended on a happy note. Perhaps all hotel horror stories should this way!
