hyperactive disorder) This is not to say that children with ADHD have FAS! There are ongoing studies to determine how recognised the condition is amongst professionals.
Some of the physical signs of FAS are:-
Thin upper lip
Snub nose
Smaller than average eyes
Smaller than average height
Can have pixie like ears(pointed)
But not all children who have FAS show all of these signs and some children who have these do not necessarily have FAS, they have to show other signs too, e.g. A child with small eyes, thin upper lip and showing behavioural problems, or developmental problems.

Can Anyone Recover?

In a word NO! It is a pervasive disorder, which means it is incurable and will never go away on its own. It affects the basic structure of the brain and how it processes information.

When you think how this can be prevented it is a shame that so many children and adults have this condition in the first place, but then again if we're not fully educated on the consequences of our actions it is all to easy to ignore health warnings.we all know it's harmful to smoke when pregnant because by law it has to be printed on the cigarette packets, but there is no warning labels on a bottle of vodka or a can of beer?

More and more young women these days are drinking heavily, or binge drinking (binge drinking can mean drinking 6 units of alcohol which isn't a lot really when you think about it)

I remember going out a few weekends in a row which was the normal thin for me to do at 24 yrs old, getting drunk and partying to unwind after a hard week's working, although for about 3 weekends partying I realised I wasn't feeling 100% right and eventually a week later done a pregnancy test which came back positive! Yes, I had done 3 binge drinking sessions with my friends when I was pregnant unknowingly of course, but done it all the same. I was one of the lucky ones! Many girls are not this lucky and have to live with their guilt forever.

To summarise this I would advise anyone who is pregnant or thinking of becoming pregnant or even suspecting they might be to stop drinking altogether throughout the life of the pregnancy, Would you want to be riddled with guilt for the rest of your life if your baby was born with this devastating disorder for the sake of a couple of binge sessions?

I apologise if this offends anyone but I feel that it is too important a subject not to be recognised!
