If you are considering using cloth diapers for your baby, you may have made one of the best possible choices. Cloth diapers have great advantages over using disposable diapers. Weigh the options well before you make the final decisions. Knowing all the advantages and disadvantages can give you just the right edge that you need in order to make a well-informed decision.
Advantages of Using Cloth Diapers:
Baby's Skin- Since you have to change the diapers much more often when you use cloth diapers, the baby's skin will be much less likely to get diaper rash. Urine has a tendency, at times, to be very acidy. The longer it lays next to baby's skin, the more likely it is to burn the skin which equates to diaper rash. Diaper rash is very painful for the baby so cloth diapers will mean less likelihood that the baby will lay in urine for longer periods of time like is the case with disposable diapers.
Cheaper- Using cloth diapers is much cheaper than using disposable diapers. You buy them once and all you have to do is keep them clean. Disposable diapers can only be used once and thrown away which means you have to spend money every couple of weeks in order to stock back up. Disposable diapers are much more expensive to use than cloth diapers.
Earth Friendly- If you are conscious about the earth, cloth diapers is the only way to go. Disposable diapers take up a lot of space. They are used once and then trashed unlike disposables. Cloth diapers will eventually break down unlike disposable diapers. Disposable diapers can lay in landfills for hundreds of years and still not break down like cloth will.
More than one use- There is more than one use for cloth diapers. For instance, you can use them for burp cloths as well. Just make sure they are clean. Using cloth diapers means that there is a great more versatility than with disposable diapers. You can buy extra diapers use them for one thing and then use them for another if you need to.
These are just a few of the advantages of using cloth diapers for your baby. Cloth diapers can be a very good thing if you have the time and inclination to do what needs to be done in order to keep the diapers clean. Weigh all of the advantages and disadvantages together to come up with the right answer for you and your baby.
