God cannot, will not, interfere in our lives because it will not (and perhaps maybe even cannot) violate its own established universal laws (after all, God cannot possibly be a law breaker). For instance, just as the law of gravity is at work in our lives and cannot be violated or turned off, so too does this apply to the law of free will. The law of free will, divinely inspired, is what directly gives us the ability to think, to choose and to decide for our selves, and what determines what we do, or don’t do, in life. In effect, free will, is a universal law that we cannot turn off and are forced to use in our lives. Therefore, when it comes to the law of free will, we have no say in the matter. It was pre-ordained and established by God, and we have no say in the matter. We possess it, and are required, even forced (it could be said) to use it.
Having established this, perhaps now we may begin to understand why God does not interfere in the affairs of our lives. Essentially, the law maker (in this case God) is not pre-disposed to violate its own pre-established universal laws. If God were to be pre-disposed to change or violate its laws, then we would be in deep trouble, for it would lead to a chaotic universe in which law and order, are lacking. Fortunately, for us, this is not the case in the universe.
This explains why God does not prevent wars in the world; it explains why God does not stop the murderer from murdering, the kidnapper from kid-napping, and the rapist from raping. Even such individuals, though their acts are of a most vile and evil nature, are applying their God-given power of free-will – their ability to think, to choose and to decide for themselves what they are willing or not willing to do in or with their lives – which confirms that free will is an established divine law in effect in our lives, that cannot be violated or repressed. The reason it can’t be, is because it is divinely established and cannot be extinguished by any force or power other than God (whatever God may be).
But there is a catch to this. The catch is this: For every action we take in life – be it good, bad or evil – there will always be an equal reaction, which means that what we sow in life is what we will eventually reap somewhere down the road of life.
Thus, for the murderer it means that he will have to give his
