Poetry: Escape

by WhiteWings

Created on: July 15, 2010

My whole life is an escape filled with bruises and scrapes

Watching things give or take, while i run to escape.

First from school,  then from work.

Escaped from an old tee shirt that i always wore,

til it tore,  Then i got free of that.

Escaped from home then escaped from him

The one I had escaped to.  So it begins.

My life continued as the escapes got more frequent

And never went away.

With drink or dreams and other things the road to escape called.

Until to my bed,  my soul fled and escaped deep inside.

I  was locked in a coma, put there by me

Trying to escape reality, so though sleeping on the outside

Escaping from the real world found myself inside

Living in hell... til God took me out.

Once out of the dark  I  stayed in the light

Once again to escape the terrors of the night

That always began at three a.m.

Yes, that sounds about right.

Shall we escape tonight ?
