Cheap romantic date ideas

So, you want to show your loved one how you feel for them with a romantic date that will simply blow their socks off. However, it is impossible to do just that on a tight budget. Incorrect! It is possible to have the most romantic date in the world with very little expenditure and here are a few of my favorites that you may want to try out:

One of the dreamiest dates that I ever had was on a one year anniversary with an ex-boyfriend of mine. We had very little money between us back then and we were only young so we could get away with doing cute little silly things such as a midnight picnic in our local park. It was very much a last minute thing; I was at home with my parents, he was at his and he called me at half eleven and told me to grab some food and meet him at the park. I snuck out of the house armed with chocolates, crisps, a bottle of pop and a warm jumper and met him just at the stroke of midnight on our one year anniversary. We celebrated under the stars, covered by a blanket, eating our way through my bag of goodies and it was possible the cutest moment of my life. This would make the most adorable romantic date especially if you want to relive your youth and this can all be done with things that you will find in your kitchen. Grab some food; throw it in a bag along with a blanket and sit in your back yard if you are not brave enough to do it in your local park.

Another romantic date that I had was with yet another unsuccessful suitor but the idea was nice nevertheless. He cooked me dinner at home surrounded by masses of candles, strawberries, fizzy wine, (we couldn’t afford champagne) and romantic music. It was a lovely date, just not the right man for me. This is the easiest of all romantic dates on a budget and you do not have to go all out with regards to cooking either. A frozen pizza thrown in the oven at the last minute is adorably romantic with candles and soft music.
Of course, if neither of these take your fancy, why not try watching a movie with your loved one in the comfort of your own home. You can get dressed up, put on your pretty dress and high heels and men, wear a nice suit or jeans and a smart shirt and grab a bottle of wine to watch a film in your living room. Cheap, effective and you can make out on the couch if the film is rubbish! Even better than this though – you can do it after the kids have gone to bed which means that you do not have to pay out for a babysitter!

Candles by a pool if you are lucky enough to have one, a picnic in the back yard, rose petals all around the bed – whatever idea you like for your romantic date, remember that you do not have to pay out a small fortune in order to prove that you love them and sometimes it is the smaller things that are more effective.
