Art; The very word is as inexplainable as it is predictable. These days, a common four-year old can splatter paint on a canvas and be hailed as a "prodigy". What is it to truly call something art? Art is the opinion of aestheticism and because of the vastness of opinions, can art really be defined? A question I've been forced to deal with since I decided to enter the art field.

As vast and as confusing as the art world can get, I'm 100% sure that there are many untouched areas that will surface throughout the existence of human creativity because as long as we perform, create, imagine, we will continue to produce originality. The artistic goal in life isn't to topple the most popular style swimming around the streets with a bigger, better style, but to express your innermost being as best you can and these days, people forget that. If you're in it for the money and the fame, then you are in it for the wrong reasons.

Another factor that ties in with this topic is what do you define originality as? To me, originality is anything from your mind and not theirs: Originality doesn't mean starting a new artistic movement. Some of the most amazing works I've seen deal with raw emotion and an interminable sense of wonder; not a race to become the next Pablo Picasso.

Ladies and gentleman, in closing, I encourage you to follow your imagination, not your wallet. Trust me when I say that a piece developed from a great imagination will shock and amaze much more than someone in it for the art column, and trust me when I say that as long as man exists, originality will never die.
