Alone and silent in this bed I lie
Over and over I ask myself why
I long for your touch, your soft warm embrace
your heartbeat that flutters as we try to keep pace
Instead I lie cold, and motionless, still
So empty my heart, it time cannot fill
Awake and so cold
I miss days of old
when you held me and loved me
and made love to me,so bold
One day you will ache
when I've found someone new
And lie here awake
feel this emptiness too
when he wraps me in warmth
as you slowly decay
your cruel lack of love
will have sent me away.

and we still drive by it some days.
The obnoxious sign on the front lawn
always
