Poetry: A fall

by Olivia Browning

Created on: July 13, 2010

Three straight minutes fo silence

hastened by an angry good-bye

More silence presses againsyt greedy ears

as a single tear escapes my frightened eye

Heart is beating slowly

everything seems out of place

I sit in this lonely room, empty house

trying to envision your face

The words, they dont come easy

The thoughts, they come too quick

I want to say "I love you" again

But my tongue, it feels too thick

Your touch, it makes me quiver

Your words, they make me think

Just thought of you usually make my heart soar

but tonight, they make it sink

Deep thoughts of desperation

Dark thoughts engulf my mind

My quiet place has long since been forgotten

And peace, is nowhere I can find

This night, it is so lonely

I think as I lay my tired head to rest

I think of the nights we spent together

those days were always the best

I put my phone beside my bed

just in case you decide to call

I try not to cry as I close my eyes

and try not to fear the fall...
