Hair loss not only affects men but also women. If your hair loss is hereditary, you may not be able to prevent it as it runs in the family. However, you can choose ways to ensure that your scalp is healthy so as to prevent losing hair at an early age. Normally, people start to loss hair at the age of 40. To prevent your hair from falling off, you can brush it at least twice a day using natural brittle brushes. Alternatively, you can ask your hairstylist for a scalp treatment. These scalp treatments are good for circulation.
There are shampoos and hair styling creams that contain harmful chemicals leading to hair loss. To keep your hair healthy, do not shampoo your hair every time you take a bath or shower. Shampoo your hair every other day using shampoos containing Keratin which keeps your hair strong and prevent it from breaking.
Keep a balanced diet and eat a lot of proteins. Proteins got from chicken and beef are ideal because these foods contain a rich source of Omega 3. This is really important in hair growth. In addition, hormonal imbalance can also cause hair loss, and that is why women should always have their hormonal levels checked once in a while. Also, ask your health provider to check your thyroid levels since a low functioning thyroid will also contribute to hair loss in women.
There is a society called ISHRS or otherwise known as International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery that specializes in Alopecia and hair loss. This is a non-profit organization composed of 700 physicians. Their main goal is to provide enough knowledge and educate other doctors who specialize in hair restoration surgery as well as hair transplant. They also provide the latest information to the public regarding hair transplant and other non surgical treatment. You may want to contact this society if you have a problem with hair loss or thinning.
There are over the counter prescription that can help you grow your hair. One of them is called Minoxidil which was initially made for men only but later on doctors realized that it can also be used by women. This product helps lengthen and enlarge the hair follicle making your hair grow longer and wild.
Many experts say that Minoxidil is best to use the stronger solution to get better results. When we say best results, we mean hair will grow, but the down side is that hair will also grow in other parts of the body like the forehead. Some side effects of this product are itchiness and irritation. Before you apply Minoxidil, test your skin first for possible allergy towards that preparation. The product may also make your hair dry so use moisturizers as well.
