Let’s just put aside for the moment, the fact that America is now desperately fighting for its financial life on “Economic Chemotherapy…” let’s just ignore the fact that, our nation is over $14 Trillion Dollars in debt… let’s forget the fact that, we now possess $100 Trillion Dollars in unfounded fiscal obligations… or that, tens of millions are now unemployed and the economy is quite honestly worsening. Has Amtrak been a good investment for our money – over the last 50 years – and will it ever become financially solvent? After all, the original government investment was in order to help it achieve this one clearly defined objective.

So far, Amtrak hasn’t faired very well over these years… and one could provide any number of common excuses. In fact, they have! Every time they have needed more of our money, they have always [quite confidently] told us why. And yet, for all of their illustrative explanations and grandiose plans, they have never turned a significant profit – nor, have they repaid one dime of our substantial and ongoing investments. Does this sound like a truly wise financial investment?

From my personal perspective, Amtrak shouldn’t have gotten the funding it already has! America should quit propping up all of our failed or failing businesses and use the savings to lower taxes [across the board] - upon those who can and do successfully compete everyday. No business is: "Too Big To Fail," and that's why we're bailing them out.... Rather than providing unlimited life support for the vegetables, we ought to invest in the still living. This may sound harsh and uncaring, however I assure you it’s not.

By continually pouring our capital down rat holes like Amtrak, how many other businesses [and/or individuals] have continually fallen through these newly provided financial cracks? Our nation can no longer afford these frivolous and unwarranted luxuries… when will you all wake up, to this fact? Everyone in America is now: underpaid, overtaxed, and tired of working so hard – for nothing in return. At the end of the day, governmentally mandated “Economic Slavery” is still just Slavery.

We have suffered 30 years with no pay raises, no benefits, no retirement, and massive monetary inflation. Even two wage earners can no longer afford to live without credit, thanks to our own government’s horrendously idiotic policies. Nor, is there
