Nerds are constantly embroiled in fictional battles between their favorite characters. One of the most common, due to the popularity of the two characters, is Batman vs. Superman. Let's weigh the pros and cons.
Superman: Heat vision, Ice breath, Super strength, flying ability, super speed, allergic to Kryptonite.
Batman: No real "super" powers, but an infinite supply of money, and the ability to create any gadget he needs to fit the bill.
When you really pit these two against each other, the winner seems obvious. Superman is almost literally unstoppable. Notice I said "almost". He still has the affliction to Kryptonite. Batman being the cunning inventor that he is, could simply line a bat suit variant with kryptonite plating, thus negating any possibility of getting within punching distance of him.
Supes could use his other powers to defeat him, though, you say! You're not taking into account Bruce Wayne's mental prowess, though. Do you really think that Batman, the mortal man who has bested many a supernatural foe, wouldn't analyze down to the bone any opponent he knew he was going to face and develop a suit specially outfitted to counteract anything that opponent could throw at him?
Think about this: Bruce Wayne find out he is going to have to have a showdown with the infamous Man of Steel. So what does he do? Superman really doesn't need to do any homework, because he's Superman. Bruce, however, does. He studies all of his skills and abilities. He then talks to Lucius Fox and requisitions a suit made solely for the battle. "Mr. Wayne, you're spending an awful lot of money on this suit, for one battle> Are you sure you want to do this?" "I've never been more sure of anything in my life, Lucius." Bruce says, dark and brooding, leaning over the schematics table, staring at the plans. "I'll have it ready in three days." Lucius says as he walks off.
The suit designed to stop Superman: A biothermally engineered Kevlar coating, with an interior Kryptonite lining. It can self regulate temperatures in the blink of an eye. It can go from hypothermic cold to stroke inducing heat and anywhere in between, in one instant based on the outside temperature. Every inch of the inside of this suit is lined with Kryptonite, from the heels of the boots, to the fingers in the gloves, to the eyes of the cowl. It's also equipped with krypto-proximity mines able to be deployed when a target is within a distance set by the user.
Now, tell me: Do you really think Superman would take his time and meticulously break down this enemy, or rush in foolishly to defeat Batman, because he's the Superman?
Also, doesn't this sound like something Bruce could whip up and use to defeat his enemy?
