Elemental Battle
Rolling sounds of thunderous clouds
In the distance rain showers dance
Swirling clouds defeat blue sky
Northerly winds cools naked skin
Caught in a moment of elemental battle
Haze in the air
Rain meets heat of day
Mini twisters swirling dust
In battle with tiny drops of mist
Two entwined as one
Mist losing to heat an dust
Light wind blowing
Performing nature’s ballet
First waves suffers defect
Still swirling
Dust dancing a dance of victory
Up high no blue sky
Dark cloud rolling in
Thunder cannons filled
With rain ready to unleash
Torrential blows
Rapid salvos
Of raindrops, begin
Swirling dust dance no more
Rainfall steady now
Only sounds of raindrops fall
The battle was swift
Yet predictable
Swirling dust may prevail
One spring day
Today is not that day
Elemental battle will start again
Listen for thunderclaps an swirling wind
Perform cadence as they move in.

The first snow of the season:
It glows white, clean and bright.
I crunch and squash
in the slosh,
jumping
First Storm In The Canyon
When cross and laden gray clouds sit
About your holy rim
The sound of every living

Music to My Ears
I can hear the raindrops
as they hit the roof.
When I hear the rhythm slowly become clear,
Like a drum beating
Wind is ferocious and frigid,
birds like rockets take flight
the temperature gauge plummets
and I'm shivering in bed tonight.
