As a contemporary society our perceptions of the Almighty often clash with the testimonies of the past. We read in scripture stories about faithful servants who were guided and helped by the power of God. Yet we often feel that we do not have the same help today. Deep in our hearts we hope that these powerful witnesses are true, but the events around us imply otherwise. The spirit of doubt and fear often creeps into our hearts and leave us disturbed and fearful.
Many learned men and women spend their lives studying the principles and stories from the past. As a result there are many opposing and conflicting views about the being with the appellation of God and his dealings with the human race. These individuals often put forth ideas which are in opposition to one another and truth ends up hidden among the war of words.
Some of the conclusions which researchers have come up with are often reflections of our confusions and beliefs. In turn our views and perceptions of God are habitually skewed. Just because we believe something doesn’t make it true. Today there are many voices that speak loudly and forcefully about what society’s outlook of life, family, and conduct should be. Very often these views are diametrically opposed to the counsel of prophets of the Judeo-Christian tradition. Our ethics and codes of behavior themselves often differ from the traditions of our ancestors. As a result it is often hard to accept the ways of God as being relevant to our lives.
Scores of people say that miracles no longer happen and that the events described in the scriptures are fantasies or the imaginings of fanciful minds. Not only that, but the respect and honor once shown to deity have become a thing of the past. There are large numbers of people that grow up far away from the scriptures and do not know the ways of God. For many the prevailing views are that God has either abandoned us, does not exist, or there is a reason he is not helping us. We also look at our relationship to God as a problem.
We have become so immersed in our own sense of learning and study that the bridge to God seems closed. But in fact we have become trapped in our reason and logic. If we do not reach a logical conclusion through our scientific research we conclude that God either does not exist or that he is not helping us anymore. For those who are confused or lack knowledge
