Message in a Bottle

The funeral started 5pm,

though none yet knew that this would be,

‘Let’s have some fun, let’s have a drink,

let’s go and have a party.’

And this they did, and thus they laughed,

none heard the message from the bottle.

"You drink from me one sip

and I shall penetrate your being.

Once in your blood I'll flood your brain

and slow it to a crawl."

"Your speech I slur, reflexes slowed,

you’ll  lose your balance ’til you fall

and if you dare for more I’ll temper with your brain,

slow all the messages inside, I shut your body down

as it can’t cope with who I am."

"I am the Grog you thought as friend,

may make you laugh and bring you joy,

as this, my cover of deception,

I’ll use to claim you and destroy."
