General info:

In Detonate! Lite the main target is to guide an object to an exact location using explosions. In each level a form of structure is set up containing one green pillar. This green pillar is the main objective in the game. On the ground is a corresponding green zone. To complete the level you have to make the green pillar make contact with the green zone on the ground. In each level you have a certain amount of bombs to complete the task. Three types of bombs are available: One exploding in every direction, one exploding up and left and one exploding up and right. It is possible to set a time delay on each bomb from 0 to 3 seconds.

Controls:

The game controls are easy to use as you simply select the time delay and then select the type of bomb you want to use. When a bomb has been selected it can be dragged to any position. For selection of time delay a series of small buttons are placed along the top of the screen. To initiate the explosions a bigger button with a bomb icon is placed at the right side of the screen. There is also a button to reset the level. All these controls are very precise and it is easy to select the right one. Sometimes when attempting to drag a bomb to the desired position you sometimes have to try a few times before you are able to select it successfully.

Graphics:

The graphics in this game are very basic and not very good. As the lite version is free you can live with the graphics for this version but if you are to go and get the full version I think you should expect more. The execution of the details seems a bit sloppy.

Gameplay:

Even with poor graphics the game manages to be a fun way to kill some time. The difficulty of the levels are set so that it will take you more than one attempt to complete it but without being too hard. The lite version of the game offers 10 levels, which gives a good idea of what the game is about for people who might be interested in buying the full version.

Conclusion and rating:

Detonate! Lite is a good game for when you need to kill some time. You are challenged to think tactically as you place the bombs to make them work for you.
