The manga was great, i was pretty bummed out when it ended. It shows the hardships of Kagura and Kensuke. It suprised me when Isayama Yomi died. But the most shocking, to me, was when Noriyuki Izuna 'died' and turned into an 'evil spirit state' and a servant of Yomi. This part was when the world was supposedly going to be destroyed.
My favorite character was Izuna. Even though he was classified as a 'pervy peeping tom' inside, he was pretty serious and strong. His ex-fiancee was, surprisingly, Yomi. I remember the part when he was fighting with Yomi. I felt that it must have been hard to fight the girl he loved. This manga demonstrates sacrifice, which most people will not do. That's why i find Izuna to be the best character.
Of course, we all love Kagura and Kensuke. I was waiting for some romance to sprout in between them. Finally, to my relief, a few 'sparks' were seen between them. I highly recommend you read this, because it is like none other. The manga also shows Kensuke being weak in the beginning, but soon building up the strength to fight the evil spirits. Even though Kensuke is kind of the main character, the spotlight is mostly focused on Kagura. Kagura was the center of attention when she was fighting to control Byakuei and when she was being possessed by Yomi. The manga consists of 52 chapters which is a decent amount. The ending was sweet. I never expected that the spirits would now be able to not only be seen by humans, but they will co-exist with them. That ending, is definitely a happy one.
