When I was young I was told there are 3 subjects not to raise in mixed company. They are religion, politics and sex, in no particular order of importance. The fact is that all 3 raise the ire of others because they are hot button topics.
When these topics arise in conversation we find people drag out their resources and proof. Because of church rules, dogma, creeds, and understanding the person is more than likely to be quoting their priest or minister or even a text rather than a proof of any kind of a living God.
God is loving and kind to us all. So why should any one religion claim total attention from God?
I find this story interesting and charge you to make sure who is welcome in your own religion or church:
"A man a bit down on his luck was walking in a well to do neighborhood and noticed a church service going on. He stepped in to refresh his spirit. He was dressed in plaid shirt, cowboy boots and jeans. Many people noticed him enter and turned away.
Following the service, the minister took him aside and suggested he pray to God before coming to their service another time. He left and considered the minister's remarks.
He returned the following week dressed the same. The minister again approached him and asked if he had talked to God. He replied he had. The minister asked what God had said. He replied that when he asked God about the church and what to wear, God replied He didn't know, He wasn't invited in either. "
God turns His back on no one. So as the image of God are we not striving for this perfection? If we judge or dismiss another human being for their religious stance, we have eliminated God's plan for us all.
Regardless of what human beings can design to separate us, God has a plan that we all fit into. Why were we created with so diverse a countenance? Behind this purpose can be found God's plan.
The only way we will understand God and the plan for us all is in our description or understanding of what God means to us as individuals. God is spirit. This is my take on the magnificence of God. The spirit that flows through me also flows through all living things. That means we are all one in spirit.
If a butterfly flaps its wings, on the other side of the world a wind is felt. The cohesion of all life is in the plan for us to understand. The design is perfect. The players are flawed.
