Obesity in children: Addressing the problem

Obesity in children: addressing the problem... Obesity and Children.
To address this issue one need look no farther then parents and their responsibility to raise healthy children.

I know, i know every one wishes to blame the fast food industry, but let us get real just for a few moments.

Unless there is a genetic component related to obesity in a few children, the guilt for obesity has to rest on the shoulder's of today's parents.

Parent's are supposed to be their child's role model. Parent's need to make healthy food choices for themselves and their children. Just say no to fast food. Make healthy snacks. Exercise with your children. Encourage kids to get outside and have fun.
When did fresh air and playing in the park go out of style? Balance is the key. Treat's are fine, but not every day.

Moving on to the school systems. I guess they deserve some blame too. For schools that serve meals, make them healthy. Physical education classes should be held everyday and should focus on not just select sport's but fitness as well.

Time to sum up.
Just remember a few focus points.

1. Parent's whether you like or not it is your responsibility to raise a healthy child.
2. Exercise is fun and also a blessing, encourage it.
3. School's have a role, they need to incorporate healthy meals and focused fitness activities for children in every grade level every day.
