Nowadays more and more diseases are appearing amongst women. Once the concern was for older women, today even young women need to be concerned for their health. Disease and illness doesn’t have favorites. It can strike anyone at any time, that’s why it’s important for women to regularly have health screening tests. Such tests can help uncover any development of diseases and cure them before they reach a more serious state. Here are some health screening tests for women.

Pap smear is one of the most important tests a women can do. This is a test that should be completed after begin to have sexual relationships or every two years after the age of sixteen. A pap smear can uncover any changes in your cervix and help you prevent against cervical cancer. Prevention is always better than cure. Early detection is always easy to cure.

Mammograms have been recommended for older women more so than for younger women. In recent years more and more young women have become victims of breast cancer. A cancer that was once considered a risk for older women. Checking your breasts at home and booking yourself for a mammogram can detect any lumps early and save you a lot of stress and worry.

Hormone tests should be done regularly as well. With the chaotic lives women lead, with work, family and relationship pressures, our hormones can be having a party. They need to be checked. A hormone test is a health screening test that should be done once a year with your annual check up to make sure that everything is in balance.

Blood circulation tests should also be done, especially if you lead a sedentary lifestyle. Sitting behind a desk all day long and than again in front of the television or at a restaurant isn’t doing any favors to your circulation. Take a test to make sure that you don’t have any circulation problems.

Our eye sight is extremely important and we shouldn’t neglect it. See your optometrist once a year to make sure that there are no changes in your eye sight. If there are, an optometrist will be able to prescribe lenses or glasses to help correct your vision.

Bone density tests should be done on an annual basis, more so when a women gets older. Bones get brittle as we age and can lead to osteoporosis. Having regular bone density tests can help prevent against diseases like osteoporosis and save you a lot of pain later on.

Being a women, it’s important to look after your health. Don’t neglect health screening tests in fear of finding something nasty. A health screening test can save your life.
