TRAINING SOFTWARE CRUCIAL TO ACCOUNTING

With the abundant variety of accounting software packages available globally, training is crucial to accounting. Regardless of which package a business uses, training will help eliminate some of the confusion in actually using such large systems. Accounting is now automated, with computers quickly doing the work people used to do manually over long periods of time. Automated accounting now performs every day entries and tasks in minutes, even seconds. The ease and accuracy of today's accounting appeals to businesses large and small, freeing time for business owners and operators to pursue business growth rather than record keeping. Thus, even the required reports, calculations, and predictions are faster, simpler, and more accurate than they were years ago.

Automated accounting, or accounting software, provides speed and accuracy of operations, and the ability to see the real-time state of a company's financial position. A typical accounting package allows on screen input and printout of sales invoices, automatic updating of customer accounts in the sales ledger as well as the recording of purchase invoices and automatic updates of supplier accounts in the purchases ledger. The user can easily record bank receipts, make payments to suppliers and for expenses, with automatic updating of the general ledger. Automatic adjustment of stock records and integration of business databases are fast and simple with an accounting program. Automatic calculation also makes payroll and associated entries much simpler. Input screens are designed for easy use, each transaction input only once. In a fully integrated ledger, one entry is recorded in a number of accounting records at the same time, simplifying the otherwise daunting task of accounting.

However, accounting is not a simple process of record keeping. Hence universities offering four-year programs of study. Accounting actually utilizes many different pieces to make up a whole business picture. Accounts receivables and payables, payroll, over head, expenses, inventory, sales and purchase, income and expense, taxes, etc. Knowledge of accounting, whether a degree or simply general bookkeeping knowledge does not guarantee automatic that one will automatically be able to use any of the various software and programs available globally today. At the same time, learning to use an accounting program does not require knowledge of accounting either, merely basic skills in computer use.
