Shout and he runs away
Whisper and he’ll stay to play
A puppy will flourish with patience and love
But will cower away if you pull out a glove
Treat him with gentleness and do not shout
And you will see what true loyalty is about

I shout at the mountain, “Get out of my way!
You’ve no right to stand in my path here today.
He shouts at me, where once he used to whisper,
Expressing what he needs not what he gives,
His words have turned to bitter,
