Chinese astrology: Year of the dragon

The Dragon is the fifth sign of the Chinese zodiac and is the sign for people born in 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, and 2000.

Dragons are generally energetic, excitable, honest, sensitive, and brave people however they can also be short-tempered, spiteful and stubborn. Dragons are soft hearted and like to help others despite rarely seeking help themselves. They are essentially loners, most often choosing their own company to that of others which can be interpreted as arrogant. They are personable and tend to be well liked by others but can be vengeful if wronged.

Those born in 1940 and 2000 are Metal Dragons and tend to be determined, strong individuals who will fight for their beliefs. They enjoy being challenged and are natural leaders. They tend to seek out the company of those who will follow.

Those born in 1952 and 2012 are Water Dragons and tend to be reasonable and calm individuals with the ability to see things from other people's points of view. They are careful decision makers, researching their options and as such are usually right.

Those born in 1904 and 1964 are Wood Dragons and tend to be creative individuals who are willing to entertain the opinions of others. They get along well with others, however tend to be very dominating.

Those born in 1916 and 1976 are Fire Dragon's and tend to be emotional, reactive individuals who easily lose their temper. They can be reckless and make poor decisions. They have an unshakable self-confidence and when calm are most successful.

Those born in 1928 and 1988 are Earth Dragons and tend to be grounded, rational individuals who are level headed and good decision makers. While Earth dragons are supportive of others and well liked they tend to surround themselves wit people who will pander to them.

Dragons are relatively healthy despite being hard-workers. A common ailment in dragons is that of tension headaches. Dragons need to consider activities with a positive effect on both their bodies and minds.

Dragons are suited to careers such as inventor, manager, computer analyst, lawyer, engineer, architect, broker, and sales person. Vocationally, they are driven, unafraid of challenges, and willing to take risks. Dragons prefer leadership roles or those that allow them a degree of autonomy. They implore dominance and ambition in their work life.

In relationships Dragons tend to fall in love quickly and while being deeply passionate, they are reluctant to give up their independence. They can be short tempered and their partners need to be thick-skinned. Dragons are compatible with the Monkey or Rat and incompatible with the Ox and Ram.
