Can you really earn money blogging?
Article ToolsA blog is like a pet - it's not just for Christmas. It's for the long term. This is the view you should take if you want to make some cash writing one.
I have heard of people making a decent amount of money by putting adsense on their blogs and getting loads of traffic to them, but getting that traffic takes time and effort. You can't just stick up a blog, put adsense on it and sit back and wait for the cash to roll in. It just doesn't work that way (unfortunately!).
Some people use their blog as a way to get better sales for the book, or other product, they are selling. They use it as a promotional tool, rather than as a way to earn money in itself.
The best blogs are those which have been around for a while, are regularly updated, have quality content, and have attracted a regular audience. That's why a blog that earns money is a long term job, not an overnight one.
