How Mick Foley could return as the new "owner" of ECW in TNA Wrestling

When it comes to new talent being added to the midst of a roster in the world of professional wrestling, in most circumstances it is something that is done backstage with the creative team and the writing team, not something that is done on screen. However, with TNA Wrestling currently in the midst of a potential ECW Invasion that could quite easily see it branch off into its own brand complete with its own television shows and roster, it would be considered exciting and good for business if an on screen mouthpiece, managerial staff member or representative would hire talent on screen. There is already one name that fits such a role that is a member of TNA Wrestling, and that is a man by the name of Mick Foley.

Mick Foley was the on-screen executive shareholder of TNA Wrestling for over a year until the regime of Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff relieved him of his duties and he has not been seen in TNA Wrestling ever since. However, if such an ECW Invasion angle truly comes to pass as it has been hinted at for the past month with the arrival of Tommy Dreamer, Raven, Stevie Richards and Rhino, Mick Foley could quite easily return to television as the creative mind behind the ECW storyline and by using his revived executive shareholder position, he could return on screen as a “promoter” that can hire and fire talent to the ECW faction.

If the rumours of TNA expanding their product and adding new television shows to their line-up are true, then an ECW based television show could quite easily be added to their ranks and like any television show or wrestling promotion, it would need a leader and right now, nobody else that is a current member of TNA Wrestling fits the role more than Mick Foley. Foley could begin his angle by introducing new ECW alumni on a weekly basis on TNA’s Impact broadcast, before announcing that he is hiring for his own ECW television show. Such an announcement would shock the world, and while it would still be under the TNA banner, it would still be an ECW revival.

Despite being absent from TNA Wrestling, Foley is still under contract with the promotion which makes it suspicious as to why he was removed from television so suddenly. This makes for much speculation and talk in regards to his potential return, and no return would be more of a shock and surprise than returning as the executive shareholder of TNA Wrestling, but also as the brand new owner of the revived Extreme Championship Wrestling promotion under the banner of TNA Wrestling and Spike TV. Very few take the managerial role or creative staff position to the limit like Foley does and therefore, such a move from TNA using Mick Foley would arguably be a great move when it comes to the growing potential of an ECW Invasion that could lead to a revival.
