If you like to write, then there are ways that you can take this hobby one step further.  Consider the following ideas to accomplish this.

Try to earn money with your writing

If you enjoy writing as a hobby, then why not consider trying to earn a little extra money at it?  There are many ways that you can do this, encompassing both freelance and full time positions.  If you want a full-time position, then you could consider one of the many jobs that have writing as the main task or even just part of it.  For instance, you could look to be a journalist at a major or smaller newspaper.  You could also try to do copywriting work.  You might work for an advertising agency or in the marketing department of a company.  You could write website copy, brochures, pamphlets, customer letters, or radio, television or print advertisements.  As a freelance writer, you could do a lot of the same things.  You could also try to write freelance for a website such as

www.helium.com.  Also, another great job for someone who likes to write might be as an English teacher.  You could share and spread the love of the written word with younger children.

Write a book

If you like to write, you might want to try to write a book.  Perhaps you always felt like you could never do this.  You don’t know until you try, however.  There are many different genres out there.

Enter a writing contest

You can also take your writing one step further by entering different contests.  You will find many online and you can earn money.  Also, some writing contests will even let you vie for the chance to get your work in front of an editor.

Learn more

You can take your hobby to the next level by learning more and improving yourself.  There are many ways to do this.  Different books provide instruction on writing.  You can also join a critique group and have others evaluate your work.  Also, there are many different writing organizations.  Some are local and some are online.  You can take classes on writing or go to conventions.  Some of these are based on the type of writing that you like to do.  For instance, there are organizations such as the Romance Writers of America and the Mystery Writers of America.

If you love to write as a hobby, then you can consider how to bring it up a level.  Consider the above techniques.
