Homestyle Chicken Casserole

This is an awesome recipe that will serve up to 8 people. It is really easy to prepare in that it only takes 20 minutes of prep time. It is great meal for the whole family, friends, and guests. It takes less than 30 minutes to cook. This recipe can also be cooked in the microwave which is even better because that means less time in the kitchen and more time with family. It will take about 15 minutes to cook in the microwave.

This is a very nutritional meal because it contains a high content of protein, iron, calcium, vitamin A and vitamin C. The casserole will save easy covered in the fridge and may be easily reheated in the microwave.  It is a great dish to serve with green salad and garlic bread. I hope that you will enjoy preparing and serving this delicious casserole as much as I do. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

6 tablespoons of real butter

3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon of salt

1/2 teaspoon of black pepper

1 teaspoon of hot sauce

2 cups of chicken broth

1 cup of milk

1 cup of Mozzerella cheese

2 cups of cooked chicken, cut in pieces

1 can of mushrooms, drained

1 pack of noodles

2 teaspoons of dried parsley

Directions:

1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in the flour, salt pepper, and hot sauce. Cook for two minutes. Add the chicken broth and cook until thick.

2. Add milk, cheese, and chicken, continue to cook and stir until well blended.

3. Drain the mushrooms and add to the mixture.

4. In a deep baking dish add the cooked noodles and pour in the sauce and mix until well combined. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 minutes. When done, sprinkle the parsley on top. Serve hot and enjoy!

How to Microwave Homestyle Chicken Casserole

Ingredients are the same as the conventional oven method.

Directions:

1. In a microwave safe casserole dish, place the butter and microwave for 40 seconds, Add flour, salt, pepper, and hot sauce. Mix well and add broth and milk. Microwave on high for 7 minutes until thick. Add the cheese and chicken.

2. Microwave on high for 7 mintes. Add the mushrooms and the cooked noodles. Stir well. Microwave for 5 minutes more on high. Sprinkle withb parsley when done. Allow to sit for 4 minutes. Serve hot and enjoy!
