How do we get God's attention

How do we get God's attention? We've always had His attention. He doesn't ignore us.  He said: "Behold! I stand at the door (our heart) and knock. If any man hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and sup with him, and he with me." When I studied that word "opens" in the original language definition of the original word used, it  means "to open wide and keep it open." How does one open the door of their heart? With sincerity and without hesitations. It is a posture of the heart, not a fleeting idea. This is how we keep the door open.

When I looked at the meaning of the word "sup" in this verse, it of course meant supper, and supper in those days was a time of intimate bonding for families and guests. The expansion of the word "sup" in this verse from the Lexicon was: "I will make him to share in my most blissful and intimate intercourse."

In other words, having God's attention has never been an issue. We had His attention from the time He created us! We have always had His attention. I think the question: "How Do We Get God's Attention?", is more about feeling that God is holding back from either meeting requests, or revealing Himself in a more literal way. Yet there's no magic to it, it's merely a principle of relating, and sometimes, waiting.

There's a scripture which says: “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you”. (James 4:8)  In the 33 years since I met Jesus, I've come to realize this particular verse to be more profound than one would think. Such a simple verse but with copiously explosive wisdom and revelation. Where God is concerned, He welcomes and loves for us to engage Him and He looks for genuine sincerity in the heart regardless of what we are approaching Him about. I discovered that when we make efforts to engage the Lord, and not just with our voices but with actions and effort with our hearts fervently involved, the Lord responds in kind.

Quite frequently, some people tend to take a formal approach like they would if they were at work representing their company, or meeting with a famous person, using preset, careful or formal wording. This can work with people, but with God, it 's important to be naked and real with Him because He sees straight into our hearts, anyway, and He already knows everything there is to know about us.

For example, we could go to a psychologist and tell them about our life-strategically leaving out important details. Yet with God, He knows the details already. He's aware of
