Becoming a YouTube celebrity does not happen overnight. Most YouTube headliners take months, even years, to build a hefty repertoire of followers and fanatics. The key, however, is to keep these viewers entertained and coming back for more. While most viewers come and go, it's the dedicated and devoted audience that will shoot your superstar status through the roof.

By creating interesting and unique videos that viewers will be glued to their computer screens watching, you'll slowly but surely build a loyal following on YouTube. Here are some suggestions to get you started.

1. Branding - Know Your Audience

In order to pull in a loyal audience, you have to know what audience you're trying to pull in. Branding, or the subject and style of videos you're doing, is important to reach that specific audience. Not only will your brand serve as a way for people to find and recognize you, but it'll also give one-time viewers a reason to come back to your channel. Choose a specific topic to base all your videos around - it can be something popular like movies, music, news, or sports, or something general like talking about other videos or just being yourself.

The crucial thing, however, is no matter what subject you choose for your channel, you have to make it unique. Make it into your own. YouTube is flooded with millions of very similar videos. Viewers need to know which videos stand out from the crowd, because those are the ones they're bound to flock to. Once you begin getting regular viewers, listen to them and their feedback in order to make your brand even stronger. What the audience wants is what the audience should get.

2. Make Your Content Meaningful

The only way to stop viewers from clicking over to another video is to make your content meaningful. Make an impact on the YouTube community. Do something that no one else has done before. Figure out what viewers are craving and go with it. Create videos that viewers will want to watch and come back to watch more of. If your videos are dull, senseless, and unimportant, then people will have no reason to stick around. Add your voice to your work. If your videos have a lot of your personality in them, then surely they'll be unique.

3. Stay Consistent

Long-term viewers like familiarity. Keeping your content and scheduling consistent is necessary to keep viewers around. The topic in all your videos should be the same. Choosing one format for all your videos is also a good idea. Keep all videos about the same
