How to use AdWords to buy ads

Google Adwords is the market leading Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising platform that makes it easy for business owners to advertise their products or services. It enables advertisers to create adverts which target Google search engine visitors or visitors to any site containing Adsense.

After creating an account, it is simple enough to get a campaign up and running quickly. However, you need to take your time before rushing into a new campaign as it can be costly if you target poor keywords.

Keyword Research:

Before doing anything, you need to conduct keyword research and identify which keywords are worth targeting. This will improve the chance of selling more products or services and creating a profitable campaign.

Create a campaign:

Once keyword research is complete, you can create a new campaign. Simply click on the campaigns button in the Adwords interface to bring up the campaign settings screen. Here you can enter the campaign name and apply the basic settings like the location and language to target, which networks and devices to use as well as the maximum cost per click (CPC) and the daily budget.

Take care to enter the maximum CPC accurately as it is not uncommon for some advertisers to $10.00 instead of $1.00. Naturally, if it is incorrectly set at $10 per click any daily budget will disappear quickly.

The networks and devices settings enable you to choose which sites your adverts appear on. The default campaign runs adverts on most sites including the Google search network, search partner sites and the display network as well as all devices capable of running them.

The campaign management screen also includes advanced settings where advertisers are able to schedule the start date, end date and even daily scheduling. They can also set frequency caps on how often their advert is shown to people and can place bids to target specific demographics. These advanced settings take a while to get familiar with, but they can help make campaigns profitable and are worth experimenting with.

Create Adwords Groups:

After basic settings are in place, you need to create an Adwords group. This is the creative part as this is where you create the adverts which show up on all sites. You also need to add the keywords which should be highly relevant to the text of the advert. This is due to Google allocating a Quality Score (QS) to every advert created. The higher the QS, the lower the actual CPC.

It is advisable to create multiple adverts so they can compete against each
