Yesterday, today, and tomorrow are the three concepts we must contemplate in order to embrace the future. What kind of a future we will have is determined by how we lived yesterday, it is influenced by how we live today and is validated in our outcome tomorrow. The future is predicated by our yesterdays, today’s and tomorrow’s.
We all have the power to predict our futures! It seems impossible to many but to those who are dreamers it is highly probable. Many of us grew up reading books or watching television shows that revealed glimpses of our future. Because we could not or would not embrace the realities of what our mind was receiving through sensory stimulations we dismissed those thoughts because they did not comply with our preconceived picture of how the world should be. Many times this perception has been painted by the thinkers of the past.
Someone else envisioned the future for us in the past. Yesterday someone had a vision of a world that would have computers. They could see with their minds eye the complexities of life being made easier with the many tools that man would invent. No they didn't use crystal balls. They didn't rely on astrological signs. They didn't use black magic. They simply dreamed of a better day. Because of the dreams of men in days gone by there were those believers who set out on a quest to see if such a thing, place, or time could or will ever exist.
Today we have great thinkers as well. They see life differently then you or I. They write about the advances we will make as people on this earth. They make movies depicting what they see happening if we continue on our present course of actions today. How can we discard those dreams of yesterday when they have made all our advances of today possible? Why should we label those who dream today as wishful thinkers when we already know dreams do come true. We should all know that dreams are the things by which reality is made possible.
If we don't take time to dream today. If we don't examine the results of our past actions we will enter our tomorrows with today's disappointment, and yesterday's warnings. If we fail to act today it is certain that our future will continue to spiral downward toward destruction that will be horrific. But if we embrace the truths of yesterday and combine them with the realities of today, we will be able to reasonably plot the course of our future.
Therefore, the future of the world lies in the hand of the human race. We find that if we don't find
