Depending on what an opinion is reflecting, a person's opinion could have a very high significance or mean absolutely nothing.
In public opinion polls, for example, of politicians, the poll represents who is favoured among candidates by the general public. News programs often report or use these polls to gain a public opinion of who's more popular. They are insignificant and the results are only an idea of who likes who better.
It's only when the general public take their opinion, whether they voted in the poll or not, and put their opinion forward as a vote. This creates a significant impact because ultimately, they have formed their own opinion of which candidate would do a better job. and have made it possible for a candidate to be successful. This may have already been reflected in an opinion poll or the result may be completely different. Does this mean that the people who voted in the public poll wasted their time?
You could probably answer that question with a yes or no depending on your own opinion of opinion polls
Along with all the happenings in the world and along with almost everything people do, comes an opinion of some kind from somebody else. Everyone enjoys having a say and expressing what they feel about certain things, especially if they are passionate about something or sometimes even if they are not passionate and just enjoy having their say on a lot of different things.
To movie and video game reviewers and almost every other reviewer of anything, their opinions can have a monetary value. They are paid to give a balanced opinion or simply their own opinion to movies and other products.
In some cases these people’s opinions can have a very high value because they are recommending a movie or product and such; people may watch that movie or buy that product depending on their recommendations.
On a personal level, people’s opinions and views on things we do as an individual can have little or no value, but on the other hand can have a high significance. For example, if someone we don't know expresses an opinion on something we say, or do, or wear and so on, the opinion can mean nothing. But on the same topic, if someone we love or respect has a similar opinion, then we will pay more attention to the view of the person close to us.
Opinions and views have a variety of value depending on what the opinion is about, who expressed that opinion and the way in which they express it.
