Summer is a time during which many families get the only opportunity of the year to take some vacation time together. If you are traveling by air, don't forget that airlines have serious weight restrictions when it comes to baggage, and if you exceed the weight limit, you'll be charged an additional fee. TSA requirements for carry-on luggage will only allow you to carry 3 3/4 ounce bottles of liquid that will fit into a one quart Ziploc bag.
If you are going to be traveling during the summer months, be prepared to deal with any hair issues before you go.
*Opt for a low maintenance style -
The best type of hair style for anyone to have during the summer is one that will require as little in the way of maintenance as possible. A short hair cut that can be washed and combed is ideal, but if you aren't willing to go the route of super short hair, consider a shorter style or one that won't require that you use a blow dryer, curlers or a curling iron. A perm can eliminate the need for all of those hair care appliances.
If you have really long hair, be sure you have plenty of pony tail holders so that you can just pull your hair back. Other easy styles for long hair include braids (including a French braid,) a ponytail that is then twisted and held in place with a large barrette. If you have really thick and unruly hair, you'd probably be wise to go with something short so that you don't have to engage in a war with your hair every time you are getting ready to go somewhere.
*Minimize the amount of products you use -
If you are traveling, the fewer products you can use, the better. For one thing, the less you have in the way of hair care products, the less space these things will take up in your luggage. Besides that, the fewer products you have, the less time you'll have to spend fixing your hair. Consider using a 2 in 1 product because the shampoo and conditioner are contained in the one bottle.
*Refrain from using heated or hot air appliances -
Summer is a time during which people often complain of having very oily hair or really dry hair. If they are complaining that their hair is oily, the reason is generally because they have a lot of hair and are sweating a lot or doing things where you tend to get very dirty. If the complaint is about overly dry hair, it may be that the sun, salt water or chlorine in a swimming pool are drying it out. If you allow your hair to air dry, you will eliminate another potential source that will dry it out, or that will require that
