Waking up every morning
Is a great beginning
Of a new day added to this earthly life
Does this mean a strife
is subtracted from the usual course of life?
No one is certain
No one can claim
That a the day's beginning

We pray for decreased toil
and blocks to hurdle...
We keep on asking
for an added blessing
without even thinking
that life is an equation...
There is a balance
of added and subtracted stuffs
For every addition,
there is subtraction
on the other side of the equation.
